Nicky has a background in both classical fine art and hand painted floral design. In 2012 she won the Royal Academy of Art's national draftsmanship scholarship taking her to study the masters at the Museo del Prado, Madrid. Following this, she took up a position as a printmaker for brand Anthropologie in Philadelphia where she learnt the ins and outs of exquisite print making for clothing. She has taught short course, ‘Floral Painting for Design’ at Central St Martin’s, London since 2020 and her hand painted textiles designs have been used by Crate and Barrel, JCrew and House of CB to name a few. In December 2018 she was featured in a 6 page spread in The World of Interiors for her work assisting Alasdair Peebles on the large Chinese Wallpaper in Pitzhanger Manor in Ealing (open to the public). Her studio is now in Philadelphia, USA where she focuses on hand painted floral designs for interiors as well as portraiture.
